Terms of use

Last updated: 9 October 2026

These terms of use (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Fjord Studio ("we", "us", "our") about the Reread Android app ("Reread" or "the app"). Please read them together with our privacy policy.

In short: after one free preview, Reread needs a Reread Pro subscription through Google Play. It renews automatically until you cancel in Google Play; deleting your account or uninstalling doesn't cancel it. Results are AI estimates, not facts or professional advice. Only share messages you're allowed to share.

1Agreement to these terms

By downloading, opening or using Reread, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. "You" means you, the person using the app.

2Who can use Reread

Reread is not for children. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. By using Reread you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3Your account

  • Reread creates an anonymous account for your installation automatically. You don't need to give us a name, email address or password.
  • Your account is tied to this installation. If you reinstall Reread or move to a new phone, open Reread and tap Restore with the same Google Play account to get your subscription back.
  • History, and the names and notes you save in People, are kept only on your phone. They aren't backed up, so they don't move to a new phone and are lost when you uninstall Reread or clear its data.
  • Your Reread ID (Settings → Privacy and data → Reread ID) identifies your account when you contact us.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Privacy and data → Delete account and data or as described on the account deletion page.

4Licence to use Reread

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Reread for your own messages, subject to these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

5Acceptable use

Only share messages you're allowed to share. You agree not to:

  • use Reread to harass, threaten, stalk, manipulate or deceive anyone, or to break the law;
  • get around the free preview, the paywall or the usage limits, for example with multiple accounts or modified apps;
  • access Reread by automated means, scrape it, reverse-engineer it, or try to extract its prompts or instructions;
  • try to disrupt, overload or bypass the security of the service; or
  • resell or share access to Reread. Access codes are personal and can't be transferred.

We may suspend or end access for accounts that break these rules (see Section 15).

6Your content

"Your content" means the messages, drafts, screenshots and notes you give Reread, and the results it produces for you.

  • Your content stays yours.
  • You allow us to process the text you send, in masked form, only to provide your result, as described in the privacy policy.
  • Results you keep in History stay on your phone. We don't keep a copy, so we can't restore them if they're deleted.
  • You're responsible for your content and for having the right to share it with Reread.

7Information about other people

Decode works on messages other people wrote to you, drafts may mention other people, and a note in People describes someone else and is sent, masked, with checks and decodes for them. You're responsible for only sharing conversations you're allowed to share, for what you write in notes, and for how you use the results. Please don't share sensitive details about someone else unless you need to. See Section 3 of our privacy policy.

8AI-generated results

  • Results are generated by AI (Google's Gemini models). They estimate how a message may come across and can be wrong, incomplete, biased or occasionally offensive.
  • A Decode's "likely meaning" is a guess about someone else's intent, not a fact.
  • Reread isn't legal, HR, medical, financial or mental-health advice. You decide what to send and are responsible for it.
  • If a result is harmful or wrong, please use Report this result in the app.
  • If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.

9Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

  • One free preview, then Reread Pro: after one free preview, Reread needs a Reread Pro subscription, bought through Google Play. The free preview shows part of the result; the rest unlocks when you subscribe. We may pause free previews for a while, for example under heavy load. The rest of the app (History, help, settings and these pages) works without a subscription.
  • Before you subscribe, Reread shows the price, how often you're billed and, if a free trial is offered, the trial length and the date of your first charge. Prices vary by country. Google Play shows the final price, including any tax, before you confirm, and takes the payment under its own terms.
  • Free trials: some plans start with a free trial. Google Play decides who can get a trial (usually one per Google account), so if you've had one you'll see the regular price. If you allow notifications, we'll try to remind you the day before a trial ends, but don't rely on the reminder.

9.1Automatic renewal

Reread Pro is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it. Each renewal lasts as long as your plan's billing period (one week or one year). On each renewal date, Google Play charges the plan's price at that time, plus any tax, to the payment method in your Google account. If your plan starts with a free trial, the first charge is when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. If the price goes up, Google Play tells you in advance, and in some countries asks you to accept the new price; if you don't accept it, the subscription ends when the period you've paid for runs out.

9.2How to cancel

  • Cancel at any time, online: in the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Reread → Cancel subscription. You can also open Google Play → Subscriptions in a browser, or tap Manage in Google Play on your plan at the top of Reread's Settings.
  • When to cancel: to avoid being charged for the next period, cancel before it starts. To avoid being charged when a free trial ends, cancel before the trial ends.
  • After you cancel, you won't be charged again, and you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for (or until the trial ends). A period you've started isn't refunded, except as described in 9.3 and 9.4 or where the law requires it.
  • Deleting your account or uninstalling Reread does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in Google Play.

9.3Payment problems, pauses and refunds

  • Payment problems and pauses: if a payment fails, Google Play may give you a short grace period, during which Reread keeps working. If Google Play puts your subscription on hold, or you pause it, Reread is locked until the payment is fixed or the subscription resumes.
  • Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under its terms and refund policy. If you think you're owed a refund, you can also email us with your Google Play order number. If a payment is refunded, Reread Pro access ends. Nothing in these Terms limits refund or cancellation rights you have by law.

9.4Right of withdrawal (EU, EEA, UK and Norway)

If you're a consumer living in the EU, the EEA (including Norway) or the United Kingdom, the law generally gives you 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. For Reread Pro:

  • Google Play's purchase flow and terms apply. You buy Reread Pro through Google Play, which explains at checkout and in its terms how the right of withdrawal applies to the purchase, and handles withdrawals and refunds.
  • Reread Pro starts straight away. When you subscribe, you ask for Reread Pro to start immediately, within the 14 days. Where you confirm at checkout that you want it to start straight away and that you then lose the right of withdrawal, that right ends when your access begins. Where the law still gives you a right to withdraw, you may have to pay for the part of the period you used before you withdrew.
  • Free trials: you can cancel during a free trial without being charged (see 9.2).
  • How to withdraw: within 14 days of the purchase, request a refund in Google Play, or email us a clear statement that you withdraw, with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.), at support@getreread.app. We'll confirm by email and arrange any refund you're owed through Google Play within 14 days of your message.

This section doesn't limit any right you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.

Questions about your subscription? Email support@getreread.app with your Google Play order number.

10Fair use

Reread Pro is for one person's own messages. To keep Reread fast and affordable, usage has limits. Currently they are roughly:

  • up to 100 checks and decodes a day (the day resets at midnight UTC);
  • after about 40 in a day, results may slow to about one a minute (earlier when demand is unusually high);
  • a short burst limit of about 10 in quick succession.

These limits may change to protect the service; we'll keep them generous for personal use. Automated, shared or resold use may be blocked.

11Third-party services

Reread relies on services from Google, including Firebase, Google Cloud Vertex AI, Google Play and ML Kit. Your use of the app may also be subject to their terms, for example Google Play's terms for purchases. If you use Add to calendar, the reminder is saved by your own calendar app. We're not responsible for third-party services, and their availability is outside our control.

12Intellectual property

You may use the results Reread gives you freely, for example by sending a suggested reply. Reread itself, including its software, design and the Reread name, belongs to Fjord Studio and is protected by law. Except for your content and the licence in these Terms, nothing here transfers any intellectual-property rights to you.

13Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reread is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We work to keep Reread available but don't promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that results will be accurate or suitable for any purpose. Some features, such as Decode, may be paused for a while, for example during maintenance. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you, and your mandatory legal rights are not affected.

14Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fjord Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for loss of data or profits, or for the outcome of messages you send, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Reread. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that can't be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory consumer rights. Where our liability can't be fully excluded, it's limited to the greater of what you paid for Reread in the 12 months before the claim and the minimum amount permitted by law.

15Suspension and termination

  • You may stop using Reread and delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, or where needed to comply with the law or to protect the service or other people. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.
  • When your access ends, your licence ends. Deleting your account removes your data as described in the privacy policy.
  • We may change or discontinue features. If we stop offering Reread, we'll tell you in advance where we can.

16Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here and update the date above. If a change materially affects you, for example your subscription, the fair-use limits or your rights, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless it's needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you don't agree with it, you can cancel your subscription and stop using Reread before the change takes effect; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Price changes follow 9.1.

17Governing law

These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you're a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live, and you can bring claims in the courts there as well as in Norway.
